A 40-year-old man who came to the school in the Ulus district of Bartın to meet his ex-girlfriend fired a gun into the air and then shot himself in the head, sustaining serious injuries.
Ayhan G. (40), who caused concern in the vicinity by firing a gun into the air near the school where he worked to talk to his ex-girlfriend in the Abdipaşa town of Ulus district in Bartın, shot himself in the head despite the efforts of the gendarmerie to persuade him. Ayhan G., who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
HE CAME TO SCHOOL WITH A GUN TO MEET HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND
The incident occurred around 5:00 PM at Abdipaşa Primary School in the town. Ayhan G. went to see his ex-girlfriend E.Ü., who had previously worked as a janitor at the school, and a court issued a restraining order against him after a complaint was made, alleging that he threatened her with death during an argument. Ayhan G., who has 15 separate criminal records, returned to the school with a gun in the evening, wanting to meet E.Ü. once again.
HE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE BY SHOOTING HIMSELF IN THE HEAD
The woman reported the situation to the teams with the help of the 'KADES' application. Gendarmerie teams arrived at the school shortly and took security measures both inside and outside the school area. Ayhan G., who fired three shots into the air in the side street of the school, stated that he wanted to meet E.Ü. and that he would commit suicide, but he could not be persuaded despite the long efforts of the gendarmerie. Ayhan G. attempted suicide by firing the gun he had pointed at his head.
Ayhan G., who was taken to Bartın State Hospital by health teams, is reported to be in serious condition. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
