Ibrahim Tamer, a 40-year-old breeder living in the Boğazlıyan district of Yozgat, explained that he started from scratch by purchasing sheep and lambs on credit after a disagreement with his father. Over the years, he has grown his herd to approximately 3,000 small ruminants.
İbrahim Tamer, who lives in Yozgat and works in livestock farming, has been raising small ruminants for 40 years. After arguing with his father, he started livestock farming by purchasing sheep and lambs on credit, and over the years, he has grown his herd, taking them out to pasture despite the harsh winter conditions.
Living in the Boğazlıyan district, İbrahim Tamer began to engage in livestock farming, which is his family profession, at a young age. Tamer, who shepherded the herd, parted ways with his father after a disagreement in 1996. Wanting to start from scratch, Tamer bought sheep and lambs on credit. Over time, he increased the number of animals in his herd and became the owner of approximately 3,000 small ruminants. İbrahim Tamer, who does not leave his herd despite the winter conditions, thanked the support provided to those engaged in livestock farming.
"IF YOU DON'T GET INVOLVED IN GAMBLING SITES..."
İbrahim Tamer, who has been continuing the family profession of livestock farming with the same enthusiasm for years, stated that they are 12 siblings and all are engaged in agriculture. Tamer said, "In 1996, we had come to the highland in the mountains. We were grazing sheep with our shepherd. I took my father's sheep and brought them down to the plain. My father got angry because I brought the sheep down from the highland and kicked me out of the house. After that, I separated and started from scratch. I bought sheep and lambs on credit. We have come to this point. If you don't get involved in entertainment centers and gambling sites in this job, you can earn money. If you leave the animals and wander around entertainment centers, you can't earn money," he said.
"IF I WERE A CIVIL SERVANT, I WOULDN'T EARN THIS MUCH"
Comparing the support provided to those engaged in livestock farming with the past, İbrahim Tamer stated, "If the current government had given us the loans they provide now, we would have been much richer. We used to take loans for livestock farming with 45% interest. Now the government provides support for tractors, sheep, and barns for those aged 20-24. If I were a civil servant, I wouldn't earn this much money. I am comfortable, healthy, I have no illness, no problems. I walk, I travel, I have no stress. I do this job with pleasure. I love agriculture and livestock farming. I cultivate 2-3 thousand acres of land. Livestock farming is like a child at home. If you take care of it, it thrives; if you don't, it doesn't. I take care of its medicine and injections," he expressed.
