Four individuals have been arrested for throwing a hand grenade at a bakery in Adana and for being identified as the instigators of the incident. It is alleged that the incident occurred due to the debt of the bakery owner's cousin, and that the intention was to intimidate in order to collect the debts.
Kadir Kurt (18), Sezer Sayğı (42), and Abdullah Ünal (54), who were identified as the instigators of Ö.G. (16) throwing a hand grenade at a bakery in Adana, have been arrested. It was claimed that the bakery owner Z.Ö.'s cousin had a debt, and therefore, the attack was orchestrated by Sezer Sayğı to intimidate for the repayment of the debts.
The incident occurred on October 5 at around 11:00 PM in the Yeşilyurt neighborhood of Seyhan district on Mavi Boulevard. A hand grenade was thrown at the bakery owned by Z.Ö. while customers were present. It caused a brief panic, and it was determined that the grenade's pin had not been pulled. Police teams dispatched to the area upon receiving a tip-off captured the suspect Ö.G. while he was fleeing. The moments when Ö.G. threw the hand grenade at the business were captured on security cameras.
3 INSTIGATORS ARRESTED
The teams from the Public Order Bureau of the Provincial Police Department, which continued their investigations regarding the incident, determined that Kadir Kurt, Sezer Sayğı, and Abdullah Ünal were the instigators by examining 470 hours of security camera footage. It was claimed that the bakery owner Z.Ö.'s cousin had a debt, and therefore, the attack was orchestrated by Sezer Sayğı to intimidate for the repayment of the debts. During the operation conducted at the identified addresses, 3 more suspects were detained. After their procedures at the police station, the 4 suspects were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested by the court.
