Murat Dereli, who stabbed and killed his nephew's wife during an argument in a park in Zonguldak, was found to have served time in prison for killing his brother-in-law in 2004 and was released in 2012. A chilling murder occurred yesterday in İsmet İnönü Park, near the governor's office in Zonguldak. According to the information obtained; a dispute between Murat Dereli (44) and his nephew's wife Serkan Akdal (44) escalated into a fight.

Murat Dereli stabbed Akdal in various parts of his body with a knife he took out of his pocket. Upon the notification of the surrounding people, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Serkan Akdal, who was taken to Atatürk State Hospital by ambulance, could not be saved despite the interventions.

Teams captured Murat Dereli, who fled after the incident, in a wooded area in Yayla Neighborhood. It was reported that Dereli, who was taken into custody, stated in his testimony that the dispute arose due to cursing and humiliation in the environment.
