A woman was murdered in Fatih yesterday during the afternoon hours, causing a great uproar. 33-year-old Semiha Deniz, who was in the process of getting a divorce, was shot in the head by her husband Emrah Deniz in front of the school. The statement given by the suspect, who was taken into custody after the incident, has emerged.
SHE CAME TO PICK UP HER CHILD FROM SCHOOL
It was learned that Semiha Deniz, a mother of two, was attacked while she was in front of the school to pick up her 14-year-old daughter. The woman, who was shot in the head in the middle of the street, was taken to the hospital by ambulance in critical condition. However, despite all the doctors' interventions, she could not be saved.
HE GRABBED THE GUN AFTER LEAVING THE HEARING
It was learned that there was a restraining order against the suspect Emrah Deniz. According to allegations, Deniz went to his father's house after leaving the hearing at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan on the day of the incident and took an unlicensed gun. He then went to the school where his wife was picking up their daughter and carried out the attack.
"HE FIRED 3 SHOTS"
A woman who runs a business in the neighborhood and witnessed the incident described the moment of the attack with the following words:
"A person got off the motorcycle and fired 3 shots. One of the bullets hit the woman directly in the head. The woman immediately fell to the ground. Then the attacker got on the motorcycle and fled. Before leaving, I heard him shout, 'If you don't act smart, this is what happens, you die like this.'
The witness stated that the attack might have been timed to coincide with the time the woman was picking up her daughter from school and believed that the incident was planned.
"I AIMED TO SCARE HER"
It was learned that Emrah Deniz, who was taken into custody, denied the accusations in his statement at the police station. The suspect stated, "I aimed the gun at her head to scare her. I forgot that the trigger was pulled. It went off suddenly while I was pushing it."
