The funeral of 21-year-old Koç, a student of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU), who lost his life in an accident while riding a bicycle in Denver, USA, where he went for foreign language education, was brought to Osmangazi Mosque.
THE FUNERAL PRAYER WAS PERFORMED BY HIS FATHER
After receiving permission here, his father Necmettin Koç, who serves as an imam at the mosque, performed his son's funeral prayer.
"MY LORD HAS GRANTED US THIS"
Father Koç stated during the funeral ceremony that he always performs funeral prayers and said: "Today we will perform the funeral prayer of our own child. My Lord has granted us this. We came from Him, and we will return to Him. Hopefully, He has given us this burden because He knows we can endure it. May He make us among those who endure and are patient. Just as He granted patience to our Prophet, may He also grant us the patience of a Prophet. In this world, we are all temporary. My child, it was a little too early; this was the lifespan determined by Allah. May my Lord reunite us in His paradise."
"HE HAD BEEN THERE FOR A MONTH"
Regarding the accident, Koç said, "It was an unexpected moment due to carelessness. My Lord has written it that way. He had gone for language training; he had been there for a month." It was reported that the funeral would be buried after the ceremony to be held in Dursunbey district of Balıkesir at the time of the noon prayer.
