Professor Dr. Safi Arpaguş, who has been serving as the Istanbul Provincial Mufti in place of Ali Erbaş, whose term has expired, has been appointed to the Presidency of Religious Affairs. The decisions Arpaguş made as soon as he took office drew attention both within the institution and in the public.

MERCEDES CARS PULLED INTO THE GARAGE

According to a report in Sözcü, Arpaguş made changes to the official vehicles. Instead of the 3 Mercedes passenger cars and 1 VIP Mercedes used in the previous term, the TOGG and Passat, which were pulled into the garage during Ali Erbaş's term, have started to be used again.

NUMBER OF PROTECTORS REDUCED

The new president also reduced the number of protectors from six to two. It has been learned that this decision was positively received both within the institution and in the public.

"A TEAM WITH PUBLIC SENSITIVITY IS EXPECTED"

Employees of the Religious Affairs Directorate welcomed Arpaguş's attitude. The employees expressed their views as follows:

"The new president will create a sense of trust. There is also a positive atmosphere in the public. The institution has been worn out in recent years, and we expect a team with public sensitivity to be established."
