It has been claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump presented a 21-point plan to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza that has been ongoing for two years. The plan includes provisions for the release of prisoners, a permanent ceasefire, the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army, and the establishment of a new government without Hamas.
It is claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump conveyed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that an agreement must be reached to end the war that has been ongoing in Gaza for two years.
21-POINT PLAN
According to reports in the Israeli press, the plan prepared by Trump to achieve lasting peace in Gaza, which is said to consist of 21 points, was brought to the agenda by Israeli state television KAN. The report stated that Trump's Special Representative Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Netanyahu in New York.
ALL EYES ON SEPTEMBER 29
The meeting is noted to be a preparatory step for the summit between Netanyahu and Trump scheduled for September 29, and it was also mentioned that Israel's requests for changes to the plan were discussed. It was expressed that Witkoff and Kushner told Netanyahu that "the time has come to end the war in Gaza," but Netanyahu and Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer objected to some points of the plan. According to another Israeli official quoted by KAN, the likelihood of conflicts restarting after a ceasefire is very low.
WILL REQUEST A TIMELINE
In a report on Channel 12 Television, it was stated that sources close to Netanyahu pointed out that there has been a change in Trump's stance on the Gaza issue. According to the report, Trump will request a clear timeline from Netanyahu to end the war. In Channel 13's report, it was noted that senior officials in Tel Aviv believe that the U.S. administration's "patience regarding the situation in Gaza is beginning to wear thin." It was also reported that the White House has been increasing pressure on Israel regarding an agreement with Hamas in recent days.
WHAT'S IN THE PLAN?
In a previous report by Channel 12, it was claimed that Trump presented this plan at a meeting on Gaza held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on September 23.
According to sources, the plan includes the following points:
- Release of Israeli captives
- Gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza
- Establishment of a new governance mechanism without Hamas
- Deployment of a security force that includes soldiers from Arab and Islamic countries
- Funding from Arab states for the reconstruction of the region
- Inclusion of the Palestinian Authority in the process
It is also stated that the plan is inspired by the "Day After Plan" that Jared Kushner and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair worked on.
