After the family of 22-year-old Fatma Çetinkaya reported her missing in Karaman, the police entered the home of her estranged husband, Mithat Çetinkaya, and encountered a horrifying scene. It was determined that the 24-year-old man had strangled the young woman to death and then hanged himself in an act of suicide. Upon receiving the tragic news, the family experienced nervous breakdowns, while the police took extensive security measures on the street.
The husband who strangled his wife, a mother of two in the process of divorce, committed suicide.
The incident occurred around 11:00 PM in the apartment on the top floor of a 5-story building located on 202nd Street in the Valide Sultan neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the family of Fatma Çetinkaya (22), who had not been heard from since the afternoon, went to the police station to file a missing person report.
2 BODIES DISCOVERED
Upon receiving the notification, police teams initiated an investigation and went to the house of the woman's estranged husband, Mithat Çetinkaya (24). Teams entered the house with the help of the fire department and encountered the lifeless bodies of two individuals. Following the investigation, it was determined that Mithat Çetinkaya had strangled his wife and then hanged himself to commit suicide.
SECURITY MEASURES TAKEN ON THE STREET
Fatma Çetinkaya's mother, who came upon hearing the news, fainted when she learned that her daughter had died. Following this, health teams were dispatched to the address. A large number of police teams that arrived at the scene also took security measures on the street where the incident occurred. After the examination conducted by the public prosecutor and the crime scene investigation team, the bodies of the deceased couple were taken to the morgue of Karaman Training and Research Hospital for autopsy.
On the other hand, it was alleged that Mithat Çetinkaya had called his wife to the house under the pretext of having her meet with a lawyer after she left to go to her own family. The investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
