A 29-year-old woman in Samsun made a transaction on a website that appeared after she searched for "TOKİ housing application" on the internet. After sending a total of 35,000 TL to the specified account, the young woman realized that the system was fake and reported it to the prosecutor's office. TOKİ warned against fake websites, stating that applications for the Century Housing Project would begin on November 10.
A 29-year-old named R.S., residing in the İlkadım district of Samsun and working for minimum wage, searched for "TOKİ housing application" on the internet on October 27.
LOST 35 THOUSAND TL
The young girl, who followed the instructions on a website that appeared, logged into a fake e-government site and a fake TOKİ site using her Turkish ID number and password. She then sent money twice for the TOKİ application to the specified IBAN numbers in different amounts.
R.S. first deposited 19,200 TL, and then 15,800 TL, totaling 35,000 TL into an account registered under the name "Mehmet Karabulut." After a while, realizing that the system was fake, the young girl understood she had been scammed and went to the Samsun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today to file a complaint.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
WARNING FROM TOKİ ABOUT "FAKE APPLICATIONS"
The Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), affiliated with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, warned against attempts of "fake applications and money requests" for the Century's Housing Project.
In a post made on TOKİ's social media account, it was announced that applications for the 500 Thousand Social Housing Project would start on November 10, 2025, and that applications would only be made through official channels.
The post stated that applications would be taken from authorized branches of T.C. Ziraat Bankası, Türkiye Halk Bankası, and Türkiye Emlak Katılım Bankası located in the project city and through e-Government.
It was reminded in the post that citizens could apply between November 10 and December 19, and that the application fee was set at 5,000 lira, with statements such as "Do not report social media links, fake websites, and messages. Do not make payments to individuals or accounts other than official banks." included.
The post also noted that TOKİ does not have any applications such as money requests, pre-registration in applications, or privileged application rights through its social media and websites.
