Hakan Solaker shared for the first time the last words his father said to him during his illness. Expressing that his father's wish to "Take care of your siblings" is the biggest responsibility in his life, Solaker experienced emotional moments during the live broadcast, with tears in his eyes.
This week's guest on the "Haber Bahane" program hosted by Gökay Kalaycıoğlu on Haberler.com was journalist Hakan Solaker. In an interview that left a mark on the broadcast, Solaker spoke openly for the first time about his journey in his professional life and the family wounds he has carried for years. Solaker, who said, "Life made me grow up very early," explained that he still confronts the pains he experienced in the past.
CHALLENGES BEGINNING AT AGE 8
Solaker's turning point in life began when his father left home at the age of just 8. The journalist, who struggled to survive in a one-room house with his mother, supported his family by both going to school and working. Solaker, who said, "I worked in many jobs from pickling to being an apprentice hairdresser," expressed that he carried heavy responsibilities at a young age.
"TAKE CARE OF YOUR SIBLINGS"
Solaker stated that despite his father's alcohol use, he approached his children with love, and years later, he mentioned that they faced a significant test when his father was diagnosed with bladder cancer. The family brought a doctor from America for treatment. Solaker explained that due to financial difficulties, their house and cars were sold, and they took out a loan from the bank, but despite all efforts, they lost their father. The words his father said to him in his last moments directed his life: "I was by my father's side a day before he passed away. He told me, 'Take care of your siblings.' Since that day, I have always carried this responsibility.
UNITED GENCEBAY AND TATLISES IN THE SAME PROJECT
With the support of his uncle, Solaker stepped into journalism, teaching himself typing and photography. The journalist, who began to be recognized in the magazine world with the support of Nurcan Sabur, emphasized that bringing Orhan Gencebay and İbrahim Tatlıses together in the same project was a significant turning point in his career.
"WE DIVORCED BUT OUR FRIENDSHIP CONTINUES"
Solaker also made sincere statements about his private life. He mentioned that he married Çiğdem, whom he met in an English course, and that they have two children. However, the marriage ended in divorce over the years. The journalist stated, "We divorced but remained friends. We acted together for our children," emphasizing the importance of family ties.
LOST HIS MOTHER IN 17 DAYS
One of the most emotional moments in the program occurred when he spoke about his mother. Solaker noted that his mother passed away in just 17 days, saying, "I couldn't get enough of my mother. I was by her side until her last moment. Her love and struggle always gave me strength."
"MY GREATEST PRIDE"
While making sincere statements about his private life, Hakan Solaker opened a separate parenthesis for his daughter Aleyna. "My greatest pride is my daughter Aleyna. She is currently a successful actress and continues her life on her own feet," said Solaker, adding that they maintain a friendly relationship with his ex-wife for the sake of their children after the divorce. The journalist explained that they do everything they can for their children to grow up healthy both psychologically and emotionally, stating, "The most valuable beings in my life have been my children. Standing by them and protecting them is my greatest responsibility."
