According to a report in the Guardian, it has been stated that FIFA will discuss the proposal to increase the number of teams participating in the 2030 World Cup. If the proposal is accepted, 64 of the 211 federations that are members of FIFA will participate in the tournament.
The World Cup, which was previously held with 32 teams, will be played with 48 teams starting next year, and the number of matches will rise from 64 to 104. The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
