Emphasizing that sleep apnea is a serious condition that can lead to sudden cardiac arrests, Altın mentioned that there is a risk of collapse if a solid structure is not established during nasal surgeries.

Altın stated that sleep apnea is a serious condition that can affect the heart and lungs, potentially leading to sudden deaths, and emphasized that there is a risk of collapse if a solid structure is not created during nasal surgeries.

Associate Professor Dr. Fazilet Altın emphasized that sleep apnea is not just about snoring and can lead to serious health issues. She pointed out that this condition, which can particularly affect the heart and lungs, can progress to sudden deaths, and mentioned that patients are often unaware of this situation. Additionally, she stated that individuals with a neck circumference exceeding a certain measurement are more prone to snoring.

Stating that enlarged tonsils and adenoids are among the factors causing snoring in children, Altın noted that this condition needs to be treated. She expressed that enlarged tonsils can block the airway, leading to sleep problems, and emphasized that surgical intervention should be performed when necessary.

Speaking about cosmetic and functional nasal surgeries, Associate Professor Dr. Fazilet Altın stated that if a solid structure is not created during the surgery, there is a risk of nasal collapse. She mentioned that correct techniques should be applied to prevent such situations and emphasized that sinusitis conditions should also be taken into account.
