In Adana, a young man who was not involved in the conflict was shot in the leg during an armed clash between rival groups. The police arrested 7 suspects in an operation related to the incident. Unlicensed firearms and ammunition were seized at the scene.
In a gunfight between two rival groups in Adana, Muhammet Onur E. (20), who was walking on the street at the time, was shot in the leg and injured. The police captured 7 suspects who fled the scene after the incident in an operation. The suspects, from whom 2 unlicensed handguns, 4 shotguns, 3 bulletproof vests, and 129 bullets were seized at their homes, were arrested.
TWO GROUPS FLED THE SCENE
The incident occurred on January 1 at around 11:00 PM in the Yenibey neighborhood of Seyhan district. Gökhan R. (31), his brother Halil Can R. (20), and his friend Halil Efe S. (20) went to the street where their rivals' house was located by car. These individuals stopped at the beginning of the street and opened fire with handguns and rifles from inside the vehicle towards their rivals' house. When those inside the house, Metincan Ç. (26), Orhan K. (43), Mustafa Ü. (29), and Esef T. (32) returned fire, a conflict broke out. At that moment, Muhammet Onur E., who was walking on the street and had no connection to the incident, was shot in the leg. As the injured person collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood, both groups fled the scene.
THEY WERE CAPTURED IN AN OPERATION
Upon the notification of the neighborhood residents, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After the initial intervention, Muhammet Onur E. was taken to the hospital for treatment. The teams from the Seyhan District Police Department's Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau identified the suspects and initiated efforts to capture them. The suspects, whose hiding addresses were determined, were taken into custody in a police operation. During the search of the homes, 2 unlicensed handguns, 4 shotguns, 3 bulletproof vests, and 129 bullets were seized.
7 ARRESTS
The suspects taken to the police station blamed each other in their statements. After their procedures, 7 suspects were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested by the court. Muhammet Onur E. was discharged after his treatment.
