Dilara Çalışkan, who wanted to get her eyelashes done at a beauty salon in Esenyurt, Istanbul, faced the risk of blindness after a faulty procedure. The young woman experienced partial blindness when the adhesive applied to her eyelashes got into her eye and rushed to the hospital. It has been reported that Çalışkan is still undergoing treatment and claims that she has been subjected to threats and insults at her workplace following the faulty procedure.

On Wednesday, Dilara Çalışkan, who entered a beauty salon in Esenyurt Piri Reis Neighborhood to get her eyelashes done, experienced terrifying moments.

GLUE GOT INTO HER EYE DURING THE PROCEDURE

According to the claim, when the young woman requested a change because the wrong model of eyelashes was applied, an employee said, 'It will be a problem if we do it now.' The employee, who suggested that she use them for a few days and then change them, was told by the business owner, 'Let her lie down, do it immediately.' During the procedure, the glue that was applied got into her eye, causing the young woman to state that she was in pain and seeing blurry. When she reacted to the business owner, he approached her aggressively and threatened her. The young woman, who reported to the police, then went to the hospital. Çalışkan, who could not be treated in the emergency room, was informed by a specialist eye doctor that the chemical substance had entered her eye retina, which was the reason for her temporary blindness. While the young woman continues her medication treatment, she filed a complaint against the beauty salon, saying, 'Other people should be careful, so this doesn't happen to others.'

MY EYES BECAME UNSEEABLE

Describing her experience, Dilara Çalışkan said, "I made an appointment to get my eyelashes done, just like I had done before, and went to a beauty center. The glue they applied burned my eyes, and when I mentioned this, they continued the procedure by giving me a small fan. When the procedure was finished, I told them that they had done it differently than I wanted and that they needed to change it. The employee told me, 'If we do it now, it will be a problem; let it stay for 2 days, then we will change it.' I said, 'Okay,' and at that moment, the business owner intervened, saying, 'Lie down, do it,' and continued the procedure in a derogatory manner. I told them that I would file a complaint if something happened to my eye, but they did not listen to me. When they started the procedure again, they applied a gel, and that gel started to work its way into my eye. At that moment, they were pulling my eyelashes, and my eyes became unseeable; I was in pain. I reacted and called the police, but they said they did not make a faulty procedure," she said.

"I COULD HAVE GONE BLIND"

After the incident, the young woman, who experienced partial blindness, said, "Later, I went to the hospital; they told me it was a serious situation and that they could not treat me in the emergency room. I was referred to a specialist eye doctor. The doctor said that the glue applied during the procedure had entered my eye, reaching my retina. He said that this was the reason for my blurry vision and pain. I could have gone blind; the responsible party is the beauty salon. I want those who did this to be punished; it happened to me, and I don't want it to happen to other people," she stated.
