In the investigation of the fire in which the Asım-Nazire Kasap couple lost their lives in Muğla, it was determined through camera recordings that the elderly couple's grandson and his wife bought gasoline in a plastic bottle from a gas station just before the incident. It was established that the grandson and his wife, who were found to have intentionally started the fire, forcibly removed two gold teeth from one of the victims and attempted to exchange these teeth, but were unsuccessful.
In the Yatağan district of Muğla, two suspects were identified through camera recordings as having purchased gasoline in a plastic bottle from a gas station just before the fire that resulted in the death of an elderly couple.
Following the fire that broke out in their home in the Turgut neighborhood on March 5, which claimed the lives of Asım Kasap (87) and his wife Nazire Kasap (76), an investigation was initiated under the instruction of the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and it is being conducted by two public prosecutors.
GRANDSON AND WIFE CAUGHT WHILE FLEEING
In the investigation, it was determined that the fire was intentionally set by the victims' grandson Busenaz K. (26) and her husband Kürşat K. (29). Teams working to capture the suspects apprehended Busenaz and Kürşat K. at Istanbul Airport, where they were attempting to leave the country. As part of the operation, the elderly couple's son Ü.K, daughter-in-law S.K., and E.G. and U.K. were also taken into custody.
THEY EXCHANGED THE STOLEN GOLD FOR DOLLARS
Additionally, it was revealed that the suspects Busenaz K. and her husband Kürşat K. demonstrated the location of the fire in the house they set ablaze. The suspects confessed to starting the fire, and it was learned that they exchanged some of the gold they stole from the house for dollars, which were also seized.
THEY EVEN REMOVED THE ELDERLY COUPLE'S GOLD TEETH
It was reported that the suspects sold the gold they obtained through robbery to a jeweler in Ankara for 1 million 300 thousand lira, and that Kürşat K. forcibly removed two gold teeth from one of the victims and intended to sell these teeth to the jeweler in Ankara. The jeweler did not purchase the gold teeth immediately because he could not determine their purity and sent them to a laboratory for analysis. The teams seized two gold teeth.
It was also learned from the camera recordings obtained in the investigation that suspect Kürşat K. and Busenaz K. purchased gasoline in a plastic bottle from a gas station just before the incident.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 5, a fire broke out for an undetermined reason in the wooden house where Asım Kasap (87) and his wife Nazire Kasap (76) lived in the Turgut neighborhood. Nazire Kasap died at the scene, while Asım Kasap passed away at Yatağan State Hospital after being taken there.
