As the attacks by the U.S. on Iran and the killing of religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reverberated around the world, images of Iranians living in America celebrating these developments sparked controversy. In a video shared by the White House's rapid response account @RapidResponse47, an Iranian-American family living in Kentucky was seen joyfully reacting to the attacks and the possibility of regime change in Iran.

The White House's rapid response account @RapidResponse47 published a video on social media featuring an Iranian-American family sharing their views on the U.S. attacks against Iran.

CELEBRATORY ATMOSPHERE

The family, said to be from Kentucky, is experiencing a full celebratory atmosphere, clinking glasses at a table filled with delicious dishes.

Family members speaking in the video argue that the developments in Iran could create an opportunity for a change in the country's government.

"I'VE WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS CHANGE"

Medi Gayumi, an Iranian-American living in Kentucky, criticized the long-standing political regime in Iran, stating:

"I've waited most of my life for this change. It's very hard to express how I feel. It's been 47 years that Iranians have lived under a dictatorship."

Gayumi's words were shared in the video alongside comments related to developments connected to the U.S. and Israel's attacks in Iran.

"PEOPLE WERE EXPECTING THIS"

Another speaker in the video, Naim Torçiyan, mentioned that the developments in Iran have been long anticipated. Torçiyan noted that his relatives living in Iran are trying to carry on their lives in the midst of the unrest, stating:

"People waited, waited, and kept asking 'Will it strike, or won't it?' Finally, it happened. It's not over yet, but people are really happy because they finally have a chance to overthrow the government."

REFERENCE TO TRUMP

The video also referenced U.S. President Donald Trump's social media post in January regarding the protests in Iran, stating "Help is on the way." It was expressed that family members expect Washington to take further steps regarding the developments in Iran.
