The United States imposed new sanctions on the Russian oil giant Lukoil, which it aims to pressure for peace negotiations in Ukraine, following a notable development after President Trump's move. Lukoil has decided to sell its assets in several countries, including Turkey.
The new sanctions imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Russia target major Russian oil companies such as Rosneft and Lukoil.
RADICAL DECISION FROM THE FUEL GIANT
Following these sanctions, Lukoil announced its decision to divest its assets outside of Russia. This decision will particularly affect its operations in countries such as Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan.
IT HAS MORE THAN 600 STATIONS IN TURKEY
Entering the Turkish market in 2008 and acquiring Akpet for more than 500 million dollars, Lukoil currently operates more than 600 fuel stations across Turkey.
"THE EVALUATION PROCESS OF OFFERS HAS BEGUN"
In a press release published on the company's website, it was stated, "Lukoil announces its intention to sell its international assets. The evaluation process of offers from potential buyers has begun."
