A landslide occurred in Beykoz, Istanbul, after heavy rain, causing significant damage to a single-story house and a parked car. While there were no casualties, the residents of the neighborhood were panicked.
LANDSLIDE AFTER THE RAIN
The incident took place around 4:30 PM on Kasırga Street in the Tokatköy neighborhood of Beykoz. According to the information obtained, the ground softened after the heavy rain, resulting in a landslide. As the soil mass slid towards a single-story house, teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
CAR AND HOUSE BURIED UNDERGROUND
The teams closed the street to pedestrian and vehicle traffic for safety purposes. The incident caused great panic among the residents, but there were no deaths or injuries. Significant material damage occurred to the car and the house located on the road during the slide. The area was also captured from the air by a drone.
Emircan İnce, who described the incident, said, "We came to the sound, it’s already my relative's house. There has been a soil collapse. Everyone is very upset. Thank God we have no loss of life." Investigations by the teams regarding the incident are ongoing.
