WHAT HAPPENED?
Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir, who was detained on August 10 as part of two separate investigations initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was arrested on August 14 on the charge of "facilitating bribery."
The investigation file includes allegations regarding Epözdemir's financial relationships with prosecutor Cengiz Çallı, who was dismissed from the profession in 2022. The prosecution claims that Epözdemir gave Çallı amounts of money that could not be reimbursed with the salary of a prosecutor at that time.
