Luis Suarez, who plays for Inter Miami, received a 6-match suspension for spitting at a "Seattle" official at the end of the match.

MLS announced that Inter Miami's Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez has been suspended from matches due to a spitting incident during the League Cup final against Seattle Sounders on August 31.

SPIT ON THE OPPOSING TEAM'S TECHNICAL STAFF

In a statement from MLS, it was said, "MLS has announced disciplinary penalties related to the incidents that occurred after the 2025 League Cup Final between Seattle Sounders and Inter Miami. Luis Suarez (Inter Miami) received a 3-match suspension during the MLS regular season."

A TOTAL OF 6 MATCH SUSPENSION

The Inter Miami forward will miss the matches against Charlotte FC on September 13, Seattle Sounders on September 16, and DC United on September 20 in MLS. The MLS decision came after the League Cup Disciplinary Committee imposed a 6-match suspension on Suarez for his behavior after the final whistle. Thus, Suarez has been suspended for 3 matches in MLS and 6 matches in the League Cup. After Inter Miami lost 3-0 to Sounders in the League Cup final, Suarez spat at a member of the opposing team's technical staff on the field.

A TROUBLED PAST

Suarez received an eight-match suspension for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra while playing for Liverpool in 2011. The forward has been penalized for three separate biting incidents during his time with Ajax, Liverpool, and the Uruguay national team.
