The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, announced that a total of 57 million 827 thousand 500 TL has been allocated to 128 projects in Turkish cinema in the first period of 2026. Domestic film screenings and creative projects have been included in the support scope.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, announced that record levels of support have been provided to Turkish cinema. In the first support period of 2026, a total of 128 projects received 57 million 827 thousand 500 TL in funding. Of this support, 49 million 250 thousand TL was distributed to strengthen the screening of domestic films in 130 cinema halls.
In a post on his social media account, Minister Ersoy stated that a total of 8 million 577 thousand 500 TL has been allocated for 28 projects in the fields of animation, short film, script, and project development. Minister Ersoy emphasized that they will "continue to support Turkish cinema with a holistic approach from production to screening" with determination.
In the distribution made to encourage creative production, 1.48 million TL was provided for 4 animation film projects, 4.67 million TL for 15 short film projects, 920 thousand TL for 6 script and dialogue writing projects, and 1.5 million TL for 3 project development projects.
Minister Ersoy stated that a record budget has been allocated to 130 cinema halls across Turkey through 100 domestic film screening projects under the "Domestic Film Screening Support" program to increase the audience's access to local productions.
Emphasizing that the entire process from production to screening is supported in Turkish cinema, Ersoy said, "We will continue to ensure that all projects, from feature film production to documentaries, reach society in a sustainable manner."
The ministry will also evaluate and continue to support applications for feature-length fiction, co-production, and documentary films in the later periods of the year.
