In order to ensure transparency and prevent speculative price increases, the "Electronic Announcement Verification System," which has been implemented, will start to be applied to real estate listings for sale tomorrow, following rental properties.
The Electronic Advertisement Verification System (EAVS), implemented by the Ministry of Trade to ensure transparency in the real estate sector and prevent speculative price increases, will be applied nationwide starting February 15, covering not only rental properties but also properties for sale.
According to information compiled by AA correspondent, the system was established to prevent consumer grievances and curb unregistered activities. The application, which became mandatory for rental property advertisements on January 1, 2025, will also be activated in the second phase for properties for sale.
Within the scope of the system, property owners will authorize real estate businesses during the process of submitting a sales advertisement by selecting their property through e-Government. This verification mechanism aims to prevent advertisements opened by unauthorized individuals, price manipulations conducted through fake accounts, and unregistered brokerage activities. Advertisements published after verification will include the statement or logo "Authorization verification was done from EAVS."
OWNERSHIP INFORMATION WILL BE MATCHED
The property owner can cancel the authorization given through the e-Government authorization screen. The authorization period will be a minimum of 3 months and can be extended through the same screen. The system, which was piloted in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir as of February 1, will be implemented nationwide starting February 15, following the completion of technical integration and improvements in customer experience processes. With this regulation, the ownership information of properties for sale on advertisement platforms will be matched, creating a safer trading environment.
"UNAUTHORIZED REAL ESTATE AGENTS WILL DISAPPEAR"
The President of the Federation of All Real Estate Consultants of Turkey (TEMFED), Hacı Ali Taylan, stated that the system brings significant regulations to the sector. Taylan expressed that they have completed the necessary preparations and training as a federation. Noting that there will be no difficulties in compliance due to the system previously applied to rental advertisements, Taylan said, "The system is seriously organizing the sector; unauthorized real estate agents, whom we call 'foot agents,' will completely disappear. There can be many fake advertisements on advertisement platforms, and this regulation also prevents such fraud. The initiation of the application for properties for sale will have positive effects for both consumers and the sector."
