A concrete mixer pouring concrete in the middle of the road in Hatay was captured on a citizen's cellphone camera. The words of the mixer driver, "My company is wealthy, we will pay our fines. So you will have to wait," infuriated the citizens. Following the incident, the activities of the company to which the driver was affiliated were halted.
Concrete was poured in the middle of the road from a mixer that was stopped on the street in the Esenlik neighborhood of Antakya district in Hatay. A citizen named Fahri Cihan Kaymakçı reacted to the mixer driver who witnessed those moments.
"MY COMPANY IS RICH, WE WILL PAY OUR FINE"
In the footage recorded by Kaymakçı with his mobile phone, it was seen that the mixer driver said, "My company is rich, we will pay our fine. So you will wait." The footage included moments when the mixer poured concrete onto the road and Kaymakçı argued with the driver.
"THE DRIVER DID NOT CARE"
Describing the incident, Fahri Cihan Kaymakçı said, "We have a passage point to go home. One of the drivers stopped his concrete mixer in the middle of the road and poured concrete. When I told the driver 'Clear the road so we can pass,' he reacted by saying 'You will wait.' I recorded it on video, but the driver did not care. The driver said, 'My company is rich, we will pay our fine. So you will wait.' In the video, it is seen that the driver is emptying the mixer in the middle of the road. The back of the mixer is open, and concrete is being poured from there. The driver was very relaxed. There should be penalties for mixer drivers or another solution should be found," he stated.
THE COMPANY'S ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED
Recently, a new development occurred regarding the incident. Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Öntürk announced that the company to which the mixer driver is affiliated was fined at the highest limit and its activities were suspended.
"NOBODY IS BIGGER THAN HATAY"
Öntürk stated the following in a statement he made on social media regarding the issue: "Nobody is bigger than Hatay. The company's activities have been suspended. A fine was imposed at the highest limit allowed by law. Our inspections are ongoing. There is no tolerance for lawlessness in this city. Everyone should account for that."
