In the case regarding the death of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was attacked with a knife in Kadıköy, two defendants were sentenced to 24 years in prison, while the other two defendants were acquitted. Following this, the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed an appeal.

On January 24, 2025, in Kadıköy, the trial of 4 detained defendants regarding the stabbing murder of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi at the market was concluded recently. The court sentenced the detained defendants B.B. and U.B. to 24 years in prison for 'intentional murder against a child'. Separate acquittal and release decisions were made for the other defendants, A.Ö. and M.A.D.

THE CASE HAS BEEN APPEALED

A written press statement was made by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the court's decision. The statement said, "As stated in our previous press release; regarding the file numbered 2025/142 of the Istanbul Anadolu 2nd Children's Heavy Criminal Court, the reasoned decision was notified to our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 28.10.2025, and in accordance with Article 273/1 of the CMK, an appeal was made on the same day against the acquittal and release decision of the children involved in the crime (A.Ö. and M.A.D) that contradicted the opinion."
