The statement by MHP Chairman Bahçeli, "Anatolia will be at peace, Öcalan will be in hope, the Ahmets will return to their positions, and Demirtaş will return to his home; our decision is clear until then," resonated widely. MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız noted that Bahçeli's words summarize the entire process, stating, "The courts will decide on Demirtaş's release. We must comply with the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. If the ECHR has identified a violation and there is a statement regarding his release, then he must be released." Yıldız also responded to the question about the "right to hope."
The words spoken by the Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) made a significant impact on the political agenda.
At the end of his speech, Bahçeli stated regarding the Terror-Free Turkey process, "Our decision is clear until Anatolia returns to peace, Öcalan to hope, Ahmets to their positions, and Demirtaş to his nest." These words of the MHP leader quickly became a topic of discussion.
"THE LAST MEETING IS UNCERTAIN BUT POSSIBLE"
Lastly, MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made statements before the commission meeting to be held at 14:00 in the TBMM.
Speaking about the agenda of the commission, Yıldız said that a framework text would be prepared and that the process would not take too long, stating, "The last meeting is uncertain but possible; it could be the one before the last. We will prepare a framework text. I don't think it will take too long. We cannot give a definite timeframe from today, but it won't take long. April is a late month," he said.
"OUR LEADER MADE A STATEMENT THAT SUMMARIZES THE ENTIRE PROCESS"
Yıldız also evaluated Bahçeli's words from yesterday's group meeting that made headlines, responding to journalists' questions about Demirtaş and Öcalan as follows:
"The courts will decide on Demirtaş's release. It is necessary to comply with the ECHR decisions. If the ECHR has identified a violation, and there is a statement regarding his release, then he needs to be released. Our leader made a statement that summarizes the entire process. Therefore, there is actually no need for us to make a statement."
Yıldız also commented on the discussions regarding "the right to hope for Öcalan," saying, "There is no division in the People's Alliance regarding the right to hope."
HE ALSO MADE A SHARING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Shortly before the meeting, Yıldız made a post on his social media account, stating:
"The National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission will come together at 14:00 under the leadership of our Speaker to prepare a joint report in consensus. The framework of the legal regulations regarding the process will be clear, predictable, and compatible with the principles of the rule of law, not conflicting with the decisions of the ECHR and the Constitutional Court, and will be established within a framework that does not undermine the system of values carried by legal norms. The ideal of a 'Terror-Free Turkey' has moved beyond being merely an internal security strategy and has settled at the center of the regional security architecture."
