A passenger boat reported to have sunk due to bad weather conditions in the Gonja East region of Ghana has led to the deaths of 9 people and 5 others missing. Authorities have launched search and rescue operations to find the missing individuals.
Nine people died when a passenger boat sank in the Gonja East region of Ghana. According to reports in the national press, the boat carrying 14 passengers and cargo, which was traveling from Sikakope to Maitako in the Gonja East region, sank in the Volta River due to bad weather conditions.
THE DEAD ARE WOMEN AND CHILDREN
In the accident, 2 women and 7 children lost their lives, and 5 people are missing. Authorities stated that search and rescue operations have been initiated to find those who are missing in the accident.
