Nine people were killed and six were injured as a result of a lightning strike in eastern Rwanda. Prudence Rubingisa, the Governor of the Eastern Province, stated that nine people were killed and six were injured due to a lightning strike in the Ngoma area, located about 100 kilometers from the capital Kigali.
THE DEAD, FARMERS WORKING IN THE FIELD
Rubingisa reported that the deceased and the injured were farmers who were trying to take shelter from the rain after working in their fields, and he expressed that the injured were taken to the hospital. Rwandan police officials had announced that 130 people had died across the country due to natural disasters, including lightning strikes and mining-related accidents, by 2025.
