In an operation coordinated by the Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 19 individuals were detained during a theft investigation that lasted for 5 months. It was determined that the theft ring had committed thefts in many provinces across Turkey.
Under the coordination of the Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, JASAT detectives of the Denizli Provincial Gendarmerie Command detained 19 individuals in Istanbul, Aydın, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, and Ordu as part of an investigation into cash thefts that occurred in factories in Denizli and surrounding provinces over the last 5 months. During the search conducted at 31 addresses, many digital materials were seized, and it was learned that the thieves wore ski masks to avoid being caught and cut the safes with a spiral machine at the crime scene.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that within the scope of operations carried out by gendarmerie teams against 7 separate organized crime groups involved in fraud, usury, and human smuggling in different provinces over the last week, 67 suspects with 251 million TL in account transactions over the past 5 years were apprehended, preventing citizens from being harmed by crimes such as theft, fraud, and usury committed by members of these organized crime groups. Among the suspects, 42 were arrested, while judicial control measures were applied to 23 others, and the procedures for the other 2 suspects are ongoing.
THE OPERATION WAS ANNOUNCED BY ALİ YERLİKAYA
As part of the operations conducted by JASAT detectives of the Denizli Provincial Gendarmerie Command under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Denizli, simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul, Aydın, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, and Ordu regarding cash thefts that occurred in factories in Denizli and surrounding provinces over the last 5 months. As a result of successful operations conducted at a total of 31 separate addresses, 19 suspects were captured without giving them a chance to escape. It was learned that the thieves wore ski masks to avoid being caught and cut the safes with a spiral machine at the crime scene. It was determined that the thieves, who stole approximately 150 million, had established a criminal organization and committed thefts in many provinces across Turkey. Of the 19 suspects sent to the courthouse, 11 were arrested for establishing, managing, and being a member of an organization, while 8 were released under judicial control. The large operation was announced by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on his social media account.
