In a recent large-scale prostitution operation held in Ankara, 60 people were arrested, and many abused women were rescued from the hands of perverts. The ongoing investigation revealed that a significant number of women forced into prostitution were falsely presented as employees registered with the Social Security Institution (SGK).
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into crimes committed against the protection of the family and sexual inviolability following reports and increasing complaints.
11 BUSINESSES UNDER SURVEILLANCE
The Ankara Police Department's Public Order Branch established 'special investigation teams' for the investigation. The teams have placed 11 businesses, operating as nightclubs in the Çankaya district and suspected of exploiting women and forcing them into prostitution, under surveillance.
4 MONTHS OF SURVEILLANCE
The teams monitored the suspects by visiting the venues as customers for 4 months. Using hidden cameras, the prostitution negotiations between the venue staff and customers were recorded.
60 PEOPLE ARRESTED
In the operation carried out in recent days, 60 out of a total of 81 suspects, including business owners, managers, and other employees of the venues, were arrested by the court. Following the operation, all activities of the venues were terminated.
"YOU NEED TO GO TO A HOTEL WITH THE CUSTOMER"
While the investigation continues, women forced into prostitution reported that they were compelled to be with customers to continue working. They stated that they were threatened with phrases like, "If you don't go out with a customer, we can't hire you again," and "It doesn't work like that; you need to go to a hotel with the customer." The women, who were pushed into prostitution, said they were called by phone when a customer arrived for prostitution and that a commission was taken from the earnings by the businesses.
MADE TO APPEAR AS SGK EMPLOYEES
The investigation revealed that a large number of women forced into prostitution were presented as SGK employees.
