Susie Wiles, Chief of Staff to President Donald Trump, stated in an interview with a magazine that despite Trump not consuming alcohol, he has an "alcoholic personality." Following the controversy sparked by her remarks, Wiles issued a new statement claiming that her words were distorted, while President Donald Trump also expressed his support for his Chief of Staff.

Susie Wiles, Chief of Staff to President Donald Trump, made striking statements in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.

Wiles noted that her father struggled with alcohol problems for a long time before his death, stating, "Alcoholism damages relationships; this was also the case in my relationship with my father." She mentioned that despite President Donald Trump not drinking alcohol, he has an "alcoholic personality," saying, "The President believes there is nothing he cannot do, nothing, zero."

"WHEN ALCOHOLICS DRINK, THEIR PERSONALITY TRAITS BECOME EXAGGERATED"

Wiles shared that she knows the behaviors of alcoholic individuals from her experiences with her father, saying, "Some clinical psychologists who have a million times more information than I do may dispute what I have to say. But with high-functioning alcoholics or alcoholics in general, their personality traits become exaggerated when they drink. That's why I consider myself somewhat of an expert on big personalities." Wiles also touched on her working relationship with Trump, stating that she sees her role as facilitating, not restricting, the President's decisions. She noted that the invalidation of her decisions has never been a source of complaint for her and that she has always supported Trump's final decisions, saying, "I have lost votes a few times, and if there is a tie, he wins."

"ELON MUSK IS STRANGE, I THINK GENIUSES ARE LIKE THAT"

Wiles described billionaire Elon Musk, whom Trump temporarily appointed to head the Office of Government Efficiency, as "someone who acts completely alone," adding, "The real challenge with Elon is keeping up with him. He openly says he uses ketamine. He sleeps in a sleeping bag in the EOB (Executive Office Building) during the day. He is a very strange, very strange man; and I think geniuses are generally like that. Is this beneficial for work? No. But he is a character in his own right."

"THERE WAS A GREAT DISAGREEMENT ON TARIFFS"

Wiles admitted that Trump's decision to impose tariffs and the events that unfolded during that process were "more painful than expected," stating, "There was a great disagreement on whether (the tariffs) were a good idea." She reported that Trump's advisors were sharply divided, saying, "Some believed tariffs were a cure-all, while others predicted disaster." Wiles noted that she told everyone to align with Trump's agenda, saying, "I said, 'What is going to happen is clear. So, find out how you can align with what he is already thinking.' But they couldn't do it."

"JD VANCE BELIEVES IN CONSPIRACY THEORIES"

Criticizing U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi for her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, Wiles stated, "I think she completely failed to understand who the target group interested in this was. First, she gave these people empty folders, then she said it was on the witness list. But there was nothing on her desk." Wiles shared her view that U.S. Vice President JD Vance has been "someone who has believed in conspiracy theories for many years."

CLAIMED HER STATEMENTS WERE DISTORTED

After the interview was published, Wiles made a post on the social media platform X, stating that her statements had been distorted. She pointed out that what was published was taken out of context, saying, "What was published is a smear piece directed at me and the best president in history, the White House staff, and the cabinet." Wiles expressed that the published content aimed to create a negative perception of Trump and his administration, stating, "The truth is that Trump achieved more in 11 months in the White House than any other president has in 8 years, and this was due to the unique leadership and vision of President Trump, whom I have been honored to work with for nearly 10 years."

TRUMP SUPPORTS WILES

President Donald Trump expressed his support for Wiles in a statement to the U.S. press. Trump said that Wiles' description of him as having an "alcoholic personality" was accurate, stating that he has a "possessive and addictive" personality. U.S. Vice President JD Vance also noted that he has always admired Wiles' consistency and sincerity, stating, "I have never seen her disloyal to the President, and that makes her the best White House Chief of Staff the President could want." Vance emphasized that he often jokes with Wiles about "conspiracy theorizing," saying, "Sometimes I become a conspiracy theorist, but I only believe in the true conspiracy theories."

"ATTEMPTS TO DIVIDE THE ADMINISTRATION WILL END IN FAILURE"

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi expressed her support for Wiles in a statement on the social media platform X, saying, "All attempts to divide this administration will end in failure. All efforts to undermine and belittle President Trump's tremendous successes will end in failure. We are a family. We are together."
