Actor Settar Tanrıöğlen, who underwent consecutive surgeries due to a brain hemorrhage and had to leave the series "Kızılcık Şerbeti," shared his challenging experience for the first time. Tanrıöğen said, "I went to the set with a bleeding brain, I worked. The doctor didn't realize I had a brain hemorrhage."
Master actor Settar Tanrıöğen was urgently operated on after suffering a brain hemorrhage in 2024. It was learned that the artist underwent a total of 3 operations within a month and a half and could not continue with the project he was involved in at that time due to the treatment process. The famous actor shared the details of his experiences for the first time months later on the Bambaşka Sohbetler program.
"I WORKED WITH A BLEEDING BRAIN"
Tanrıöğen, who stated that he fell ill on the set of the Kızılcık Şerbeti series he was acting in at that time, expressed his experiences with the following words:
"I went to the set with a bleeding brain, I worked. I told Ketche, 'My brain is bleeding, blood came from my throat. Finish my work quickly, I will go to the doctor.' He finished my work before it got dark in the evening. I want the work to go on, I don't want the episode to be delayed because of me."
"IF I LIE DOWN ALONE, I WILL DIE"
Tanrıöğen also shared the anxiety he experienced after the set:
"They put me in the production vehicle and brought me to my house in Şişli. I said, 'I shouldn't go out and lie down alone, I will die. No one will know, they will hear it the next day.' I went to my friends at the Governor's Mansion. That night, I either slept or didn't sleep for an hour and a half."
"THE DOCTOR DID NOT REALIZE I HAD A BRAIN HEMORRHAGE"
The master actor also recounted the process of going to the hospital, stating that the doctor did not initially understand the seriousness of the situation. Tanrıöğen said, "I didn't eat anything thinking they would want tests, I went to the hospital. The doctor said, 'His values have dropped, he is very worn out. If he eats well, he will recover.' He did not realize I had a brain hemorrhage. They operated on me twice that same day," he expressed.
WHO IS SETTAR TANRIÖĞEN?
He is the older brother of Saldıray in "Bir Demet Tiyatro," Vakkas in "İkinci Bahar," and the girl Naci in the film "Eşkıya," as well as Karate Feyzo in the series "Alaca Karanlık."
Settar Tanrıöğen was born on July 15, 1962, in the Merkezefendi district of Denizli. He lived in Denizli until the age of 22. After turning 22, he wanted to continue his education and graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Archaeology and Art History, after passing the exam.
He started theater while in Denizli at a public education center. While studying at Hacettepe University in Ankara, he continued theater at an art house.
In 1995, Settar Tanrıöğen portrayed the character Saldıray Abi in the series "Bir Demet Tiyatro," alongside Yılmaz Erdoğan, Demet Akbağ, Zerrin Sümer, Serhat Özcan, Erdal Tosun, Deniz Özerman, Altan Erkekli, Volkan Saraçoğlu, Şebnem Sönmez, Sinan Bengier, and Olgun Şimşek.
In 1996, he played the role of Kız Naci in the film "Eşkıya," directed and written by Yavuz Turgul, starring Şener Şen and Uğur Yücel, with other actors including Kamran Usluer, Sermin Hürmeriç, Yeşim Salkım, Özkan Uğur, Necdet Mahfî Ayral, Kayhan Yıldızoğlu, Güven Hokna, and Ümit Çırak.
Between 1998 and 2001, he appeared in the series "İkinci Bahar," which aired with a script written by Sulhi Dölek and directed by Uğur Yücel, Orhan Oğuz, and Türkan Derya, starring Türkan Şoray and Şener Şen, playing the character Vakkas Resuloğlu in the first 8 episodes alongside Güven Hokna, Nedim Saban, Özkan Uğur, Nurgül Yeşilçay, Ozan Güven, Arif Erkin Güzelbeyoğlu, Yasemin Çonka, Devin Özgür Çınar, Tan Sağtürk, Meral Okay, and Cezmi Baskın.
In 1999, he performed a one-man show with texts written by Vedat Özdemiroğlu.

In 2010, he starred alongside Buğra Gülsoy in the film "Gölgeler ve Suretler," directed and written by Derviş Zaim, and won the "Best Supporting Actor" award at the 22nd Ankara International Film Festival.
In October 2014, he starred in the series "Urfalıyım Ezelden," which started airing on Kanal D, with a script written by Sinan Tuzcu, sharing the lead role with Bülent İnal, Öykü Gürman, Settar Tanrıöğen, and Dolunay Soysert, Meral Çetinkaya, and Menderes Samancılar.
In December 2014, Settar Tanrıöğen acted alongside Altan Erkekli, Engin Hepileri, Hüseyin Avni Danyal, and Erkan Kolçak Köstendil in the film "Yağmur-Kıyamet Çiçeği."
In 2015, he acted in the series "Baba Candır," written by Tayfun Güneyer, produced by Faruk Bayhan, and directed by Yusuf Pirhasan, alongside Settar Tanrıöğen, Uraz Kaygılaroğlu, Özgün Karaman, Melis Tüzüngüç, Tülay Bursa, Berna Koraltürk, Tolga Pancaroğlu, Ertunç Tuncer, Selda Özbek, Mehmet Ulay, and Dila Akbaş Bayrak.
Settar Tanrıöğen, who suffered a brain hemorrhage and was hospitalized on January 26, 2024, was discharged on March 14, 2024, after treatment in intensive care.
