Students at a school in the Efeler district of Aydın drew attention when they ate their lunch sitting on benches or stones in the street during their break. The students claimed that they were not allowed into the cafeteria and could not use their classrooms because they did not pay a fee. Families of the children, who are eating in an unhealthy and unsafe environment, are seeking a solution to this situation.

During the lunch break at Gazipaşa Middle School in Aydın's Efeler district, the fact that students have to eat their meals in an unhealthy and unsanitary environment on the street has drawn reactions.

"CLAIM THAT THOSE WHO DO NOT PAY ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE CAFETERIA"

According to the claim, students who cannot benefit from the paid meals in the school cafeteria and are not allowed to eat in the classrooms are sitting on the ground in the schoolyard and the surrounding streets to meet their nutritional needs. Students and parents, who are forced to eat their meals in unhealthy conditions at the statues and walls on the street, demanded a solution to this situation.

"THEY ONLY LET US IN THE CLASSROOMS WHEN IT RAINS"

Students eating at the street corners said, "We cannot eat the meals we bring from home in the cafeteria. They do not even allow us to sit in the classrooms; they do not let us into the cafeteria. Only those who get food from there are allowed inside. When it rains, they let us in, but not to the cafeteria, only to the classrooms. At other times, we have to eat our meals outside."

PARENTS ARE WAITING FOR A SOLUTION

Student parents expressed that they manage somehow on sunny days, but they are concerned about what will happen on rainy and cold days, stating that not everyone has the financial means to buy food from the school and that a solution should be found. Parents also pointed out that children who are forced to eat outside during the lunch break pose security issues and emphasized that students who bring their meals from home should be able to eat in the cafeteria or classrooms.
