WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

In the General Assembly of the TBMM, during a debate between İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Turhan Çömez and TBMM Deputy Chairman and Imralı delegation member Pervin Buldan, Çömez's words of "despicableness" were responded to by DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık. Starting his words with "Do you know what true despicableness is?", Sakık said, "Those who ignore the Kurd after founding the country together are despicable. Those who ban a people's language are despicable. Those who seize a people's rights are despicable. Do you know who is despicable? Those who remain silent about the unsolved murders of tens of thousands of Kurds are despicable. Those who burn the villages of three thousand five hundred Kurds are despicable. Those who want deaths to continue are despicable. Those who want the war to continue are despicable. Those who want the Kurd to not have a single pebble are despicable. Whoever calls us despicable is the greatest despicable of all."

ÖZDAĞ'S CONTROVERSIAL POST

While the debates continued, Ümit Özdağ, the General Chairman of the Victory Party, shared Sakık's speech on his X account, stating, "God knows, if I had been in that general assembly hall, I would have beaten anyone who insulted Atatürk, our War of Independence, and the Republic of Turkey. Quoting Özdağ's post, Sakık replied, "I am a Shafi'i, my ablution is broken."
