The High Disciplinary Board of the Republican People's Party has decided to expel Abdulvahap Göçer, the Mayor of Malatya Yazıhan, following an investigation. It was announced that Göçer's membership was terminated due to actions contrary to the party's bylaws.
The Republican People's Party (CHP) High Disciplinary Board has made a definitive expulsion decision regarding Malatya Yazıhan Mayor Abdulvahap Göçer.
UNANIMOUS EXPULSION DECISION
In a written statement made by CHP High Disciplinary Board Secretary Deniz Çakır, it was reported that in the board's meeting on February 5, 2026, it was unanimously decided to expel Göçer from the party.
THREE ARTICLES OF THE BYLAW WERE CITED AS REASONS
The statement indicated that it was determined that Göçer acted contrary to the provisions stated in articles 68/1-b, 68/1-d, and 68/1-f of the party's bylaws.
Accordingly;
To engage in attitudes and behaviors that are incompatible with the duties and responsibilities undertaken in the party,
To contribute to political activities that are contrary to the fundamental principles of the party,
To engage in behaviors that obstruct the proper conduct of the congress and convention processes in accordance with the bylaws and regulations
were stated as fixed actions.
"DEFINITE EXPULSION" PENALTY
The High Disciplinary Board decided to expel Abdulvahap Göçer from the party with a "definite expulsion" penalty due to the aforementioned actions. It was emphasized that the decision was made unanimously.
