The Israeli army sent an evacuation order to health institutions in the northern Gaza Strip ahead of the attacks it will carry out to invade the city of Gaza.

Israel has accelerated its invasion operation against Gaza. The Israeli army issued a statement regarding its latest move concerning Gaza.

EVACUATION ORDER TO HEALTH INSTITUTIONS

In a statement from the army, it was reported that health institutions in the northern Gaza Strip were instructed to cease their activities and prepare for relocation by being contacted via phone.

It was stated that the instruction from the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) two days ago was issued as part of the preparations for the evacuation of the population in the city of Gaza.

The statement indicated that the activities of health institutions in the northern Gaza Strip would be halted, while it was claimed that arrangements were being made in the infrastructure of hospitals in the south for the acceptance of patients and the injured.

ISRAEL TARGETING HOSPITALS IN GAZA

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has continued to target health centers in its attacks in the Gaza Strip. While Israel systematically obstructs the operation of the hospitals it has besieged, it also does not allow the entry of medicine and medical equipment into the region.

According to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, out of 38 hospitals in the region, 15 are operational, but only 4 of them are central hospitals. The occupancy rates of the hospitals have reached 200%.

Out of 157 primary healthcare institutions in the region, 67 are operational, and only 40 out of 110 operating rooms are functional.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz approved the invasion plan for the city of Gaza presented to him by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir yesterday morning. Israeli Army Spokesperson Effie Defrin also announced during a press briefing last night that the army had begun its attacks around the city of Gaza in preparation for the invasion. The invasion attacks on the city of Gaza were reported to be named "Gideon's Chariots II."

ISRAEL'S DECISION TO INVADE GAZA

The Israeli Security Cabinet approved a plan for the invasion of the city of Gaza in the north of the region on August 8.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stated in an interview before the cabinet meeting that they aimed to occupy the entire Gaza Strip.

Reports in the Israeli press also indicated that the army had received orders to invade the rest of Gaza, but this step was not expected to be implemented before September.

According to the plan, in the first phase, approximately one million Palestinians will be moved south, the city will be besieged, and after intense attacks, it will be invaded. The second phase envisions the invasion of the refugee camps in the center of Gaza, which has largely been turned into ruins.

Israel occupied the Gaza Strip for 38 years from 1967 to 2005. Today, the Gaza Strip, where approximately 2.3 million Palestinians live, has been under a severe blockade for 18 years.
