In the case related to the poisoning death of her husband Mehmet Y. in Osmaniye, Mustafa S., who was alleged to have had an affair with Sebile Y., was arrested for "intentional murder" and later released under judicial control. Sebile Y., who was taken into custody during a live broadcast and confessed that her husband died after drinking tarhana soup, was re-arrested.
On March 22, 2024, a chilling incident occurred in Osmaniye. Mehmet Y. (53), who fell ill at home, passed away 20 days later in the hospital.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT HE WAS POISONED TO DEATH
After the death, Mustafa S., who was alleged to have had an illicit relationship with his wife Sebile Y. (49), was taken into custody following confessions that emerged in a television program and was arrested for "Intentional Murder." During the investigation, it was found that hydrogen sulfide, which can cause respiratory failure and heart attacks, was detected in the stomach of the deceased.
The Osmaniye 4th Heavy Penal Court issued a release decision for the defendants under judicial control after approximately 10 months of detention.
WIFE ARRESTED AGAIN
After the release, a new arrest warrant was issued for Sebile Y. for the same crime. Teams from the Adana Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch identified the woman in the Kayalıbağ neighborhood of Seyhan district. Following a street-by-street surveillance, Sebile Y. was captured and, after her procedures at the police station, was arrested by the court she was brought to and sent to prison.
THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY LIVE ON AIR
Following the suspicious death of Mehmet Y., his family had applied to the program "Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert." The family expressed their suspicion that Sebile and the fortune teller Mustafa, whom she sought help from, were involved in this sudden death. After pressures, Sebile Y. confessed in a series of statements that inappropriate photos had been taken of her and that her husband had been poisoned to death.
"HE DIED AFTER TAKING 3 SPOONS OF TARHANA SOUP"
During the live broadcast, Sebile Y. stated that Mustafa said, "After Mehmet drinks the water I brought, he will leave us," and later indicated that her husband died from the water added to the tarhana soup she made. Sebile Y. said, "He died after taking three spoons of tarhana soup."
Police teams, who considered the broadcast a tip-off, came to the live show and took 'fortune teller' Mustafa and Sebile Y. into custody.
