Under the "Law on Amendments to the Capital Markets Law" implemented in Turkey, the Capital Markets Board (SPK) has updated the list of companies applying for licenses and liquidation. According to the temporary lists, the number of companies applying for operation and liquidation has increased to 76.

NUMBER OF CRYPTO COMPANIES APPLYING TO SPK REACHES 76

The Capital Markets Board (SPK) has updated the "List of Active Entities" and "List of Entities in Liquidation" for crypto asset service providers. According to the lists, the number of active companies has increased from 47 to 76, including global giants such as Coinbase, Crypto.com, and KuCoin. The number of companies in the "List of Entities in Liquidation," which previously had 3 companies, has now reached 8. Although the SPK emphasized that these lists do not imply official authorization, the absence of some major exchanges from the list is noteworthy.

LIQUIDATION APPLICATIONS CAUSE CONCERN

The SPK has updated the temporary "List of Active Entities" and "List of Entities in Liquidation" for crypto asset service providers, including cryptocurrency exchanges. With this update, the number of companies in the "List of Active Entities" has increased from 47 to 76. Additionally, the number of companies in the "List of Entities in Liquidation," which previously had 3 companies, has now reached 8.

STATEMENT FROM SPK

The SPK stated that the "List of Active Entities" was created for the purpose of informing the public about organizations declaring that they will operate in accordance with Temporary Article 11 of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362. In this context, the existence of the "List of Active Entities" does not imply that the organizations listed are authorized in accordance with the relevant legislation.

MAJOR CRYPTO EXCHANGES NOT INCLUDED IN THE LIST

The updated list includes Coinbase, Crypto.com, KuCoin, and Gate TR. However, major crypto exchanges such as HTX, Bybit, MEXC, and Bitpanda are not included in the list of active entities. Among the companies applying for custody, İş Bankası, Misyon Yatırım Bankası, and Paribu are included.

NUMBER OF COMPANIES APPLYING FOR LIQUIDATION IS 8

The number of companies applying for liquidation in the updated list is 8. The companies applying for liquidation in Turkey are: WooTR, Coinsate, Every Bit Counts, Bitget, Bitbu, Bitplus, Bitronit, and Mudrex. The inclusion of the popular crypto exchange Bitget in the list has raised concerns among users. In the statement regarding the "List of Entities in Liquidation," the SPK stated that the list was created for the purpose of informing the public about organizations (in liquidation) that will no longer continue their crypto asset service provider activities in accordance with Temporary Article 11 of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362.

According to the updated lists, it is expected that the number of companies applying for activity and liquidation will increase in the coming days.
