In Kahramanmaraş, Atilla Ayıntaplı, who killed his ex-wife with a shotgun in front of everyone in a hospital, was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole and an additional 2 years and 6 months in prison. It was claimed that on the day of the incident, the woman had requested permission from the hospital management, but was reportedly told, "They won't kill you in front of so many people."

On May 21, a chilling murder occurred at a private hospital located in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş, Turkey. Eser Karaca (42), a mother of two who worked as a medical secretary, was attacked by her ex-husband Atilla Ayıntaplı (44) who came to her unit, first causing a disturbance and then attacking her with a shotgun he had brought with him.

EX-HUSBAND MURDERED HER IN THE HOSPITAL

The ex-husband cornered Karaca on the stairs as she tried to escape, firing the shotgun multiple times and killing her before fleeing. The police quickly apprehended the suspect and ensured his arrest. The moment of Karaca's murder by her ex-husband was captured by security cameras the day after she had obtained a restraining order for the fourth time.

DECISION HEARING HELD

The decision hearing for the case opened against the suspect at the 5th Heavy Penal Court was held today. The hearing was attended by the detained defendant, the victim's family, and the lawyers of both parties. The prosecutor reiterated his opinion on the merits, requesting that the defendant be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of 'intentional murder of a divorced spouse' under Article 82/1-d of the Turkish Penal Code, based on all the evidence obtained. The prosecutor also renewed his request for no reduction in the sentence for the murder and for additional punishment for the 'armed threat' against nurse Ç.A.

"I HAD NO INTENT TO KILL" DEFENSE LEFT OTHERS SPEECHLESS

The complainant's lawyer stated that there was a cold-blooded murder and expressed their agreement with the prosecutor's opinion, while the defendant's lawyer disagreed and rejected the accusations.

Later, when asked to defend himself, Atilla Ayıntaplı reiterated his statements made during the arrest process, saying, "If my child had been shown, these events would not have happened. I did not scout the hospital; the events developed suddenly. I had no intent to kill. I do not accept the opinion; I request my acquittal. I have not seen my child for 44 days," he said.
