The sharing of an IBAN number for a 10 TL toilet fee at a mosque in Ümraniye has sparked controversy. While some citizens reacted by saying, "The transfer fee is even higher," others expressed that it is a convenience for those who do not carry cash.

A striking application was implemented for the toilet usage fee set at 10 TL in a mosque located in Ümraniye, Istanbul. A notice containing the IBAN number was posted in the toilet section of the mosque so that citizens without cash could make payments.

IBAN NUMBER POSTED FOR THOSE WITHOUT CASH

In the notice shared by Asayiş Berkemal, it was stated that the toilet fee is 10 TL, and those without cash can make payments via transfer or EFT to the specified IBAN number. The application quickly became a topic of discussion on social media.

“ISN'T THE TRANSFER FEE HIGHER?” REACTION

Some citizens argued that making a bank transfer for a payment of 10 TL is impractical. Citizens pointed out the transaction fees that may arise from money transfers between different banks, reacting by saying, “Isn't the transfer fee higher?”

On the other hand, some users expressed that they found the provision of digital payment options positive. No statement has been made by the mosque management regarding the issue. The recent development has also brought discussions about fee practices in places of worship and the use of digital payment methods back to the agenda.
