BEATEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND THREATENED WITH A GUN
Bilal E. then began to assault the woman by cornering her behind a car. In front of citizens, Bilal E. attacked her with kicks and punches, also cursing at her. During the incident, in which the woman cried out, some citizens intervened, prompting Bilal E. to pull out his gun. He then threatened the surrounding citizens while holding the gun to the woman's head. Afterward, Bilal E. ran down the street and disappeared from sight. The moments when the woman cried out, 'Call the police, help me,' were captured by security cameras second by second.
AGGRESSIVE HUSBAND ARRESTED
After the incident, Yağmur Serin E. went to the police to file a complaint against her husband Bilal E. Police teams arrested Bilal E. After being taken into custody, he was referred to the courthouse following his statement at the police station. Bilal E. was arrested by the court on charges of 'Intentional injury', 'Violation of the firearms law', and 'Threat and insult'.
"SHE WANTED A NOSE JOB AND THEN WANTED A DIVORCE"
In his statement, Bilal E. said, "I have an 11-month-old child with my legally married wife, Yağmur Serin E. Yağmur wanted to have a nose job, and after I covered the expenses, she wanted to divorce me. She left me and our child behind. I told her not to do this because we have a child. Yağmur deceives me and goes out with other men's cars. She records videos with foreign men for social media. On December 13, 2025, around 13:30, Yağmur brought our child to my residence. After that, I talked to Yağmur and told her that we have a child and she shouldn't do this. I did not force Yağmur; she was already talking to me and coming with me. I did not forcibly pull Yağmur aside and hold the blank-firing gun to her head. It was only when Yağmur screamed a lot and unknown passersby approached me that I got scared and pulled out the gun from my waist, which was unloaded. I did not load the blank-firing gun; I just took it out and said, 'Stay away from me, no one approach me, I am talking to my wife.' My intention was not to harm anyone," he was reported to have said.
"I WAS NOT AWARE OF WHAT I WAS DOING, I ASSAULTED HER IN A MOMENT OF ANGER"
In the continuation of his statement, Bilal E. said, "At that moment, I was trying to convince my wife to come home. I definitely did not hold a gun to Yağmur's head and say, 'You will either return home or I will kill you.' After that, Yağmur left my side, and I followed her, asking her to delete the videos with foreign men on her phone. Yağmur did not delete them; she started to say provocative words to me. I got angry and did not try to take Yağmur's phone so she wouldn't call the police; I just asked her to delete the videos. When Yağmur said bad words to me, I lost my temper and was not aware of what I was doing; it is true that I accidentally assaulted Yağmur in a moment of anger. I could not digest the words she said to me."
"I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT AFTER THE RAPE"
Yağmur Serin E., recounting the events, said, "I met my husband in January 2024. We had a relationship. There was rape; he used drugs. Then I found out I was pregnant. He was afraid I would report him. He wanted to marry me, deceived me, and we got married. Then the violence started. His drug use continued all the time. I always stayed silent for the sake of my child. Then my child was born. He continued to do it. When he got involved, he tended to violence. His family witnessed this too. His family always knew that he was violent towards me, that he hit me, and that he yelled at me. They said something, but he never listened to them. He yelled at his father and mother in the same way. Then I went to my father's house. I said I wanted to separate. I filed for divorce. I obtained a restraining order," she said.
"HE THREATENED ME SAYING 'FIRST I WILL KILL YOU, THEN MYSELF'"
Yağmur Serin E. said, "He came to my father's house, banging on doors, breaking windows, then sending me threats, messages, pictures, and pictures of guns. Then I took my daughter a few days ago. The next day, I spoke with her sister. She told me to bring her. I took my daughter. I didn't know she was at home. If I had known, I would never have gone. I handed her over at the door, from the taxi. After that, he caught me. He pulled me aside. He held a gun to my head. He started threatening me, saying, 'You will either come, sit at home, or I will kill you, and then I will kill myself.' A woman who saw us from the window distracted him by saying, 'Let the girl go.' At that moment, I started running up, just like in the cameras. Then he tried to take my phones so I wouldn't call the police or inform anyone. When I didn't allow it, he first headbutted me and then started to beat me. He pulled out the gun. He approached me and pointed the gun at people who wanted to help me, saying, 'Don't come closer, I have a gun, I will shoot.'
"I had to scream 'Call the police,'" he said.
"YOUR DAUGHTER COULD HAVE BEEN IN MY PLACE"
Yağmur Serin E. said, "I hope no one has to go through what I did. I didn't know he was such a person. He wasn't like that at first. He changed later. I don't want anyone to live such a life. I never thought I would end up like this, that it would be like this. May God be our helper. He is currently inside. I am still struggling at the police stations and the prosecutor's offices, going there. I am reporting the threats and complaints he made to me. Someone else could have been in my place, your daughter could have been in my place, a relative of yours could have been in my place. I can't find a word to say. I want the one who deserves it to receive the punishment they deserve. I regret that he is such a person. I regret that I built a life with such a person," she said.
