The neighbor, M.C., who was caught with the weapon used in the murders, was arrested on charges of "tampering with evidence" and "intentional homicide." In the course of the investigation, V.E., who assisted M.C., was also arrested for "tampering with evidence" and sent to prison. Thus, the number of detainees in the investigation has risen to two.

BODIES OF A FAMILY OF THREE FOUND

The incident occurred on November 25, late at night, in an apartment on the second floor of the Hacı Şeyhmus Can Apartment on Mardin Street in the Turgut Özal neighborhood of Kızıltepe. Neighbors who had not heard from the Kaya family entered the apartment by opening the door with the neighborhood headman. Upon inspection, they found the father, Mehmet Kaya (37), his wife, Berna Kaya (33), and their child, Samyeli Kaya (5), lying motionless, shot in the head. Health and police teams were dispatched to the address upon notification. It was determined that the three individuals had lost their lives. The bodies were taken to the morgue for autopsy.

FUNERALS HELD

An investigation has been launched regarding the incident. The funerals of Berna Kaya and her daughter Samyeli Kaya were held side by side in Akköprü Cemetery in the Tuşba district of Van after the autopsy procedures at Mardin Training and Research Hospital. The funeral of Mehmet Kaya was held in the rural İşgören neighborhood of Savur district.

NO STRUGGLE MARKS OR FORCE ON THE DOOR

The investigation conducted by the crime scene investigation teams revealed that the weapon was not found in the house. No signs of struggle were found in the house, and it was also determined that there was no forced entry at the door.
