Batodonoides Vanhouteni, which is claimed to be the world's oldest and smallest mammal, has been spotted in Adana. Officials stated that the creature, weighing 7-8 grams, is often mistaken for a mouse and urged people to not harm it but to report its sighting to us.
The Batodonoides Vanhouteni, which is claimed to be the oldest and smallest mammal in the world, lived in the Feke district of Adana 53 million years ago. Batodonoides Vanhouteni, known as the smallest mammal ever lived, was seen for the first time in the region by a farmer in the Feke district.

Veterinarian Tevfik Yüceli stated that the creatures seen in the region caused great excitement and asked the citizens to leave these interesting creatures in their environments without causing any harm and to report to the Nature Conservation and National Parks teams.
"WEIGHT OF 7-8 GRAMS"
Yüceli stated that the creature, scientifically known as Batodonoides Vanhouteni, lived 53 million years ago and is the oldest mammal on earth. He said, "This creature is the first mammal to have lived on earth and its anatomical structure resembles a mouse, but it is much smaller than a mouse. It weighs 7-8 grams and its teeth are smaller than 1 millimeter. This is actually very exciting for our region."

Yüceli also warned the public about the animal, saying, "This animal resembles a mouse but it is not. It does not harm anyone. Therefore, when you see such creatures, you should report them to nature conservation. It was seen 53 million years ago in the world. It was identified in America in 1998. It has been seen in rare regions in our country before. It was seen for the first time in our Feke district and excited us."
