In the statement released by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela following President Donald Trump's claim that they had attacked an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea, it was stated that "this is a blatant act of international piracy," condemning and rejecting the attack.

The statement noted, "This is not the first time he has admitted this; he has always clearly expressed that his goal is to seize Venezuelan oil without any compensation during the 2024 election campaign, revealing that the policy of aggression against our country is based on a deliberate plan to expropriate our energy wealth."
"THE TRUE REASONS FOR THE LONG-TERM ATTACK HAVE FINALLY COME TO LIGHT"
The statement also included the following remarks: "This new criminal act adds to the expropriation of Citgo, an important asset of all Venezuelans' strategic heritage, through fraudulent judicial mechanisms and outside any legal regulations. Humanity is awakening and fighting against the imperialist attacks of the North, as evidenced by the numerous and highly attended protests held in various cities across the United States and Europe.
The Venezuelan people have also shown a strong will to defend the peace of our country in the streets of Venezuela. Under these circumstances, the true reasons for the long-term attack against Venezuela have finally come to light. The issue is not migration. The issue is not drug trafficking. The issue is not democracy. The issue is not human rights. It has always been about our natural wealth, our oil, our energy, and the resources that solely belong to the Venezuelan people.
"WE WILL NOT ALLOW IT"
Similarly, we condemn that this act of piracy aims to cover up the disastrous failure of the political show staged in Oslo and to divert attention elsewhere. Once again, the manipulations and failures of those who have been trying to carry out a 'regime change' operation through violence and in open collaboration with Western governments without achieving any success for years have been clearly exposed. Venezuela calls on all Venezuelans to be resolute in defending the homeland and invites the international community to reject this vandalism, which is illegal and unprecedented, and is being normalized as a tool of pressure and plunder.
The Bolivarian Government reaffirms that it will report this serious international crime to all existing international bodies and will defend its sovereignty, natural resources, and national dignity with absolute determination. WHAT HAPPENED?
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a military operation was carried out against an oil tanker claimed to belong to Venezuela and subject to U.S. sanctions.
Trump stated that during the helicopter raid, soldiers landed on the ship and seized the tanker, and after the operation, he announced that the tanker was officially confiscated by the U.S. military.
Trump described the tanker as "the largest tanker ever seized," while this operation had caused oil prices to rise.
