KOM TEAMS SPRING INTO ACTION
According to a statement from the Provincial Police Department, the KOM Branch teams obtained information that aquatic products were being caught illegally and kept under unhealthy conditions to be shipped from Bursa. Following this, the police units in Bursa and Balıkesir coordinated to launch the operation.
TWO VEHICLES STOPPED
Two vehicles heading towards Izmir were stopped in a simultaneous operation in both provinces. Suspicious loads were noted during the searches conducted in the vehicles.
10 TONS OF ILLEGAL MUSSELS
During the inspections, which also included teams from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a total of 10 tons of mussels that had not passed any legal inspection and were transported under inappropriate conditions were seized. Experts pointed out that these products pose a serious health risk.
While the seized mussels were confiscated, it was reported that legal action was initiated against the suspects related to the incident.
