In Aksaray, a collision between two vehicles carrying four students heading to the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) resulted in the death of one person, and 10 others were injured, three of them seriously.
At around 09:00 in Aksaray, an incident occurred at the university intersection on 12th Boulevard in Hacılar Harmanı neighborhood, where a car driven by Bahadır Küçükercan (48) with the license plate 68 BC 010 collided with a light commercial vehicle driven by Menderes Sarıkaya (19) with the license plate 68 AAL 732. In the accident, Bahadır Küçükercan's wife, Narin Küçükercan (50), lost her life at the scene. Bahadır Küçükercan and his children, his son Utku Küçükercan (19) who will take the second session of the YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) Alan Yeterlilik Test (AYT), Ahmet Buğra Küçükercan (8), his neighbor Aziz Candan (41), his daughter Esra Candan (19) who will also take the AYT, along with the other driver Menderes Sarıkaya, and the twin siblings Eylem and Eylül Sarıkaya (18) who will take the AYT, Şehriban Demir (51), and Gülşen Koçak (28) were injured.
THE CONDITION OF 2 SIBLINGS IS CRITICAL
Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. The injured were taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital by ambulances. It was reported that Esra Candan, Utku, and his brother Ahmet Buğra Küçükercan are in critical condition. It was noted that both vehicles contained students who would take the YKS, as families were taking their children to school. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
