U.S. President Donald Trump responded to discussions about his health by explaining that the bruises on his body were due to taking a higher dose of aspirin than his doctors recommended. Trump stated that he has been taking regular aspirin for many years and that the bruises have appeared for this reason.
ASPIRIN DOSAGE CAUSED BRUISES
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Trump said, "I took more aspirin than my doctors recommended. They say aspirin is good for thinning the blood, and I don't want thick blood flowing from my heart. I want thin, beautiful blood to flow from my heart." Trump also mentioned that he has been taking regular aspirin for 25 years and has some "superstitions."
"RUNNING IS NOT FOR ME"
In the interview, Trump mentioned that he tried special socks for the swelling in his leg but gave up because he didn't like them. He said he doesn't sleep much and doesn't enjoy exercising. "Walking or running on a treadmill for hours like some people do is not for me," he said.
DENIED CLAIMS OF FALLING ASLEEP
Trump denied claims that he has fallen asleep during some meetings, stating that he was just resting his eyes and expressed that he struggles when "too many people talk at the same time" regarding his hearing issues.
BRUISES HAVE COME BACK INTO THE SPOTLIGHT
Last week, U.S. media brought to light that Trump had bruises on his right hand that had not healed for months. It was also noted that there were color changes and slight bruises on his left hand. The White House explained that the bruises were due to a busy schedule of meetings and regular aspirin use.
During the presidential election, Trump criticized former U.S. President Joe Biden for his age and health issues, claiming that he was not fit to continue in the presidency.
