U.S. President Donald Trump threatened, "If Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, we will strike and destroy various power plants in Iran, starting with the largest." The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, which responded immediately to Trump's words, stated, "If there is an attack on Iran's fuel and energy infrastructure by the enemy, all energy, information technology, and freshwater purification infrastructures belonging to the U.S. and the Zionist regime in the region will be targeted."
US President Donald Trump made a harsh statement regarding Iran in a post on his social media account.
Addressing the Tehran administration about the Strait of Hormuz, which has become the key to global energy supply, Trump stated, "If Iran does not completely open the Strait of Hormuz without threat within 48 hours from this very moment, the US will strike and obliterate various power plants in Iran, starting with the largest."
IRAN'S RESPONSE WAS PROMPT
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that in response to US President Donald Trump's threat to strike power plants if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz, it would target the infrastructure of the US and Israel in such a case.
The Tasnim News Agency published a written statement made by the Revolutionary Guards. The statement included, "In light of previous warnings, if an attack occurs on Iran's fuel and energy infrastructure by the enemy, all energy, information technology, and freshwater purification infrastructures belonging to the US and the Zionist regime in the region will be targeted."
US-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN
Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations. Iran responded with attacks on designated targets in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the US-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed. According to Iranian officials, the death toll from the US-Israel attacks exceeded 1,348, and the number of injured surpassed 17,000.
