An explanation has come from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Öncü Keçeli regarding the claims that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was interrupted during a press conference in Syria and that the meeting ended abruptly. Keçeli stated that the meeting was disrupted not due to a deliberate intervention as claimed, but rather due to a purely technical malfunction, adding, "The Syrian side has apologized to our delegation for the situation that occurred."

However, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli stated that these circulating claims do not reflect the truth and shared the details of the incident. In a statement made via social media, Keçeli expressed that the confusion during the meeting was not due to a deliberate intervention as alleged, but rather a completely technical malfunction.

Spokesperson Keçeli explained the situation with the following words: "Yesterday (December 22) in Damascus, a technical malfunction occurred towards the end of the joint press conference between our Minister and Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Shaybani; during the response to a question regarding developments in Gaza, the voice of the interpreter did not reach the headphones in the conference room while our Minister was speaking. Upon this issue, the Syrian official managing the session, thinking that our Minister had finished his remarks, prematurely concluded the meeting. The Syrian side has apologized to our delegation for this incident."
