Kasım Gülpınar, who was elected as the Mayor of Şanlıurfa from the Rebirth Party in the local elections on March 31, resigned from his party today. Journalist Mehmet Yetim, who is familiar with the region, stated in his statement to Haberler.com regarding Gülpınar's resignation, "According to the information we obtained from people close to him, Kasım Gülpınar will not immediately join the AK Party. There is a possibility that he may join the AK Party in the future."
Gazeteci Mehmet Yetim, who was a guest on the Haberler.com channel hosted by Melis Yaşar, evaluated Kasım Gülpınar's resignation from the YRP.
"GÜLPINAR'S RESIGNATION HAS BEEN DISCUSSED FOR MONTHS"
Gazeteci Mehmet Yetim, who evaluated Kasım Gülpınar's resignation from the Yeniden Refah Party, said, "There was a protocol crisis during the visit of Murat Kurum, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, to Şanlıurfa. In the protocol crisis, Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar should have been sitting next to the minister, but unfortunately he was not given a seat and a meeting was held with Murat Kurum. When Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar met with the minister, the question of 'Will he join the AK Party, will he resign from the Yeniden Refah Party?' was raised. This political gossip has been going on in Şanlıurfa for months."
"KASIM GÜLPINAR MAY JOIN THE AK PARTY IN THE FUTURE"
Yetim, who provided information about Kasım Gülpınar's possibility of joining the AK Party, said, "According to the information we obtained from people close to Kasım Gülpınar, he will not immediately join the AK Party. There may be a possibility of him joining the AK Party in the future. Let me put it this way, Kasım Bey is a non-partisan figure. When we look at the previous elections of the Yeniden Refah Party, we see that they received 28,000 votes in Şanlıurfa. Kasım Gülpınar received 350,000 votes in the local elections. The Yeniden Refah Party is an important party, but ultimately Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar is a non-partisan and non-political figure in Şanlıurfa. If he joins the AK Party, his supporters will respect his decision."
